Relive the Most Memorable Red Carpet Moments of the Decade

There are some moments in fashion history that were just so stunning or shocking that even years later, we just can’t get the images out of our heads.

That’s the case for some of the most major looks that graced the red carpets from the past decade, a 10-year period that kicked off with a bang thanks to Lady Gaga stunning the world by turning up to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in a full-on meat dress.

Mother Monster’s animal instincts were right — that was a head-scratching look that’s still unforgettable today, to the point that it’s gone from just plain weird to straight-up iconic.

The GRAMMY winner is far from the only A-lister who made some money moves in the 2010s, however. Jennifer Lawrence became a fashion darling after rocking a curve-hugging red Calvin Klein dress to the 2011 Oscars, Angelina Jolie looked so confident in her va-va-voom black dress at the 2012 Oscars, people barely noticed her arm candy (a.k.a. Brad Pitt). Her powerful leg set off memes heard around the world in addition to making the thigh-high slit a trend we still see on red carpets today, including another look that made this list by a daring Chrissy Teigen at the 2016 American Music Awards. And let’s not forget the showstopper that was Tracee Ellis Ross’ volumonous, pink Valentino frock at the 2018 Emmys.

Plus, the Met Gala always brings some stunning looks, with Kim Kardashian West’s floral Givenchy ensemble from 2013 topping the list, especially since she was heavily pregnant with her first child, daughter North, at the time.

On top of all of those fabulous frocks, we’ve also seen plenty of tulle (we’re looking at you Zoe Saldana and Rihanna), nearly-naked dresses (hello, Beyoncé and Bella Hadid), and some truly futuristic fashions (that would be Gaga again, as well as Miley Cyrus).
