Minor league manager gets emotional telling pitcher he’s getting called up to Nationals

Over the weekend we showed you a video of a Mets prospect being told that he was being called up to the majors, which was great.

Now there’s another video of a minor leaguer getting called up to majors and it’s even better.

Seriously, we’re all for MLB teams to keep sharing this kind of content.

This new video is of Harrisburg Senators pitcher Aaron Barrett being told by his manager, Matt LeCroy, that he’s returning to the majors to play for the Nationals.

LeCroy got emotional while breaking the news, most likely because Barrett has been through so much over the past few years, which included two seasons in which he didn’t pitch at all due to injuries.

This is great:

The moment Aaron Barrett found out he was going back to the bigs. Congratulations, Aaron!

How cool is that?

Here are the details on what he’s been through since leaving the majors in 2015:

Aaron Barrett last pitched in the major leagues in 2015.

He didn’t pitch at all in 2016 and 2017 after Tommy John surgery and the worst pitching injury: a broken humerus.

In 2018, at 30 years old, he returned in Low-A.

He spent all of this year in Double-A.

This is awesome. https://t.co/fOZKof45EN

And I agree with Scott Van Pelt:

We don’t have a show tonight, but if we did, this would lead it off.

Best thing I saw today. https://t.co/I90jqbIrK1
