Joe Biden: Republicans will have ‘an epiphany’ after Trump leaves White House

WASHINGTON — While on a campaign stop in Concord, N.H., former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden told voters that Republicans would have ‘an epiphany’ after President Donald Trump left the White House and find common ground to work with Democrats.

The former Vice President has spoken fondly of his friends in the Republican party and has framed himself as a dealmaker in a potentially divided government.

“I read in the New York Times today that I — that one of my problems is if I ever run for president, I like Republicans,” Biden told the U.S. Conference of Mayors in January. “Bless me father for I have sinned. But…from where I come from I don’t know how you get anything done.”

In New Hampshire, Joe Biden predicts that once President Trump is out of office, Republicans will have “an epiphany” and work with Democrats toward consensus.
