Chain Bridge Reopens After Truck Overturns

MCLEAN, VA — Chain Bridge, one of the routes from Northern Virginia into DC, was closed for several hours after a dump truck overturned Monday. The bridge has reopened, according to Arlington officials.

The Arlington Fire Department was on the scene to extricate the truck driver. The driver was taken to a trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The overturned truck left debris on the road. Heavy duty tow trucks were on the scene to clean up debris. Reports from a WTOP traffic reporter indicated that multiple vehicles were involved in the crash.

Officials urged drivers to prepare for impacts into the evening commute and seek alternate routes. North Glebe Road and Chain Bridge Road were open while crews cleared the road, albeit with traffic backups.
