SACRAMENTO, Calif.
A California woman has been arrested after what authorities say was the theft of an SUV that followed a struggle with the owner and resulted in a high-speed chase.
The Sacramento Bee reported Saturday that 31-year-old Alycia Donovan was in custody and being held on $20,000 bail.
Officials say the Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol conducted a chase reaching speeds up to 100 mph (161 kph).
Authorities say Andrew Kay left the keys in his Ford SUV while picking up his boat at a Sacramento storage facility and Donovan got in the vehicle and tried to drive away.
